The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released its official notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level 10+2 (CHSL) on 9th May 2023. Candidates can read the complete notice on the official website of SSC - ssc.nic.inAccording to the notice released on the official website of SSC, applicants can SSC CHSL apply online from 9th May 2023 and SSC CHSL last date to apply is 8th June 2023.

 

There are approx. 1600 vacancies tentatively determined by SSC. The Staff Selection Commission is going to conduct a competitive exam for the recruitment to various Group C positions, viz. Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Data Entry Operators.

SSC CHSL Exam - Overview

 

SSC exam stands for Staff Selection Commission, established in 1975, and is an Indian organization that works under the Government of India, to recruit for several Group B & C posts in the various Government ministries, departments, Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies & Tribunals.

 

On 9th May 2023, SSC released a notice for the recruitment of Group C posts. The SSC CHSL application submission will begin from 9th May 2023 and the process will end on 8th June 2023.

Vacancies and Pay Scale for SSC CHSL Exam 2023

 

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200). 

 

Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5(Rs. 29,200-92,300). 

 

Data Entry Operator, Grade “A”: Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100).

 

On a tentative basis, SSC has announced recruitment for approx. 1600 vacancies. Soon, the category-wise and post-wise vacancies will be updated on the official website of SSC. 

It is important to note here that State-wise or Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by SSC.

Eligibility to Apply for SSC CHSL 2023

 

The candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University to apply for SSC CHSL (10+2) Exam 2023. 

A candidate must be either: 

(a) a citizen of India, or 

(b) a subject of Nepal, or 

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or 

(d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

 

If the candidate belongs to categories, (b), (c) and (d), a certificate of eligibility has to be issued by the Government of India.

 

 

Age Limit for SSC CHSL 2023

 

The age limit decided by SSC for the posts is 18–27 years, i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1996 and not later than 01-08-2005 are eligible to apply.

How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2023?

 

Step 1 - Visit the official website of SSC - ssc.nic.in for the Online Application.

Step 2 - Complete the registration process at the login tab given on the right side of the page. 

Step 3 - Click on the “Apply” tab given at the top.

Step 4 - Click on the CHSL tab and scroll down to apply link.

Step 5 - Login with the registration number.

Step 6 - Upload all the needed documents and image.

Step 7 - Fill out all the asked details in the CHSL application form 2023.

Step 8 - Pay the application fee.

Step 9 - Submit the form and save the confirmation page for future usage.

 

 

What is the Application Fee for SSC CHSL 2023?

 

The application fees for SSC CHSL Exams 2023 is Rs. 100 /- (Rupees One Hundred Only).

Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are exempted from paying application fee. These categories can apply for free.

The SSC CHSL Exam is Computer Based Examination, conduction in two phases.

Scheme of Tier-1 Exam

 

There will be objective-type, multiple-choice questions only. 

 

The question paper will be set in English, Hindi and other languages opted by the candidate Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri (also Meitei or Meithei, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

 

Negative Marking - 0.50 for every wrong answer.

 

 

 

Scheme of Tier-2 Exam

 

The tier - 2 exam of SSC CHSL 2023 is divided into three sections having two modules each.

Section-I
Module-I: Mathematical Abilities 

Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence. 

 

Section-II: 

Module-I: English Language and Comprehension

Module-II: General Awareness 

 

Section-III:

Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test 

Module-II: Skill Test/ Typing Test

 

 

The tier-2 exam will be held in two sessions on the same day. The first session will consist of Section-I, Section-II, & Module-1 of Section-III. On the other hand, the second session will include Module-2 of Section-III.
