The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully held the NEET 2023 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). One of the toughest medical entrance exam of India, NEET 2023, was conducted on May 7 from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm. NEET 2023 Application Form started on 6th March 2023. According to a report, around 20 lakh students had registered for this exam.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern


The NEET 2023 Exam Pattern comprises four subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Each subject will consist of two sections, Section A & B. Section A will consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions, out of these 15 Questions, candidates can attempt any 10 Questions. 


The total marks are 720 (180 marks allotted for each section). According to the marking scheme of NEET 2023, 4 marks will be given for every correct answer and -1 will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The total time allotted to attempt all sections is 200 minutes (3 Hours 20 Minutes).

As per the initial reactions of candidates, and subject experts, the overall difficulty of the NEET 2023 exam was moderate to high

Students found Zoology and Botany, the easiest sections. 

Whereas, the difficulty level for the Chemistry section was moderate to high for most of the students. 

The physics section was a bit lengthy, but all in all its difficulty level was easy to moderate.

Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate 

According to our experts, the level of difficulty for Chemistry Section was easy to moderate. 

The questions were based on NCERT concepts.

Some candidates found the Chemistry section to be tougher because the language and delivery of the questions was a bit complicated. Students have had to read the questions very carefully to answer them correctly.

Solutions, Mole Concept, Chemical Bonding, & Electrochemistry were some of the topics that had the highest weightage in NEET 2023. Also, the percentage of questions asked from inorganic and organic chemistry was high as compared to Physical Chemistry.



NEET 2023 Physics Section Analysis


Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

As per our experts and students review, the Physics section was comparatively lengthy and time-consuming. 

The direct concept based questions made the difficulty level of Physics section easy to moderate.

The majority of questions were formula based. 

There were a few questions that had difficult calculations and confusing questions.

There was no question asked from the topic Unit and Dimension.

NEET 2023 Expected Cut-Off


The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the NEET cut-off percentile each year, which is the minimum qualifying score required to secure admission to top medical and dental colleges in India. The NEET 2023 cut-off will be announced after the declaration of results. Prior to that, aspirants may refer to past year cut-offs to approximate this years range.
