Latest News: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card for All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2023. The All India Sainik School Entrance Examination for admission to classes VI and IX of Sainik Schools for the academic year 2023-24 will be held on January 8, 2023. Eligible candidates can download the admit card from the official website, aissee.nta.nic.in.

 

Admission to Sainik Schools Society (SSS) 

The Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Sainik Schools are run by the Sainik Schools Society (SSS). Sainik Schools are CBSE bona fide English medium residential schools. Cadets at Sainik Schools are prepared to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other officer training academies. There are 33 Sainik Schools across the country at present.

Admission to the 33 Sainik Schools to Class VI and Class IX for the academic year 2023-24 is via a written exam called AISSEE 2023.

 

 

Which Agency Is Conducting AISSEE 2023?

AISSEE 2023 will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications for AISSEE 2023, regulation of the AISSEE 2023, processing and declaration of result and providing the merit list to the Sainik Schools Society (SSS).

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

For admission to Sainik Schools : 

 

For admission to Class VI: 

• A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, for admission to the academic year 2023-24. 

• Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys. 

 

For admission to Class IX: 

• A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2023, for admission to Class IX for admission to the academic year 2023-23. 

• Girls cannot get admission to Class IX.

• A candidate should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission. 

 

 

For admission to Approved New Sainik Schools: 

 

• Admission to approved New Sainik Schools for the academic year 2023-24 in the Sainik School is only at the level of Class VI. 

 

Eligibility requirements (under 40% route): 

• A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, for admission to the academic year 2023-24. 

• Girls can get admission to Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys. 

Candidates are advised to check the availability of seats for girls from the website of the approved New Sainik School concerned.

 

Eligibility requirements (under 60% route): 

• A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI for admission to the academic year 2023-24. 

• Girls can get admission to Class VI. The age criteria is same as boys. 

• Candidate should be studying in the approved New Sainik School where he is seeking admission and must have passed/appearing in Class V as on 31.03.2023. 

 

 

Date of AISSEE 2023

AISSEE 2023 will be held on 08 Jan 2023.

(a) For admission to Class VI: From 02:00 pm to 04:30 pm 

(b) For admission to Class IX: From 02:00 pm to 5:00 pm 

The schedule will remain unchanged even if the date of the exam is declared a Public Holiday.

 

 

Sainik School Admission 2023 Qualifying Marks

Students must obtain a minimum of 25% in each subject and a minimum of 40% aggregate to qualify the Sainik school examination. However, qualifying the AISSEE entrance exam does not guarantee selection and call to the medical exam. However, no minimum marks are required for candidates from the ST and SC categories. 

 

For Sainik Schools, Min. 25% marks in each section and 40% marks in the aggregate. This does not apply to SC, ST candidates.

For Approved New Sainik Schools-40% route, Min. 25% marks in each section and 40% marks in the aggregate for all candidates including for SC, ST candidates. 

For Approved New Sainik Schools-60% route, Min. 25% marks in each section and 40% marks in the aggregate for all candidates including SC, ST candidates.

Age Limit

 

For admission in class VI, the age of the candidates should be between 10 to 12 years as on March 31, 2023. On the other hand, for admission in class IX, the age of the candidates must be between 13 to 15 years as on March 31, 2023.
