AIIMS, which stands for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, is a renowned group of medical colleges in India. These institutions are highly sought after by medical aspirants not only from India but also from around the world. Many individuals wonder about the number of AIIMS colleges in India. India currently has a total of 25 AIIMS campuses, with 21 of them already functional and the remaining either under construction or awaiting operation. Previously, AIIMS conducted its own entrance exam for the MBBS program, but this practice was discontinued in 2019. Starting from the academic year 2021-22, admission to AIIMS is now done through the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). The Ministry of Health announced in February 2022 that all new AIIMS campuses will be operational by February 2025. Additionally, there are proposals to establish AIIMS in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Mizoram, and Tripura.
