What is e-RUPI? 

e-RUPI is a one-time use digital solution to facilitate cashless payment which is person & purpose specific solutions for various services like COVID Vaccine, donations, corporate gift vouchers, etc.

On August 2nd, 2021 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched a digital payment solution e-RUPI. It is a cashless and contactless medium of payment that allows users to make payments without having to share any personal information or bank details. e-RUPI is a QR code or SMS-based e-voucher system that enables payment for services. It is designed to ensure the elimination of any possible fraud. e-RUPI is built on the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) platform, which is widely used in India for digital payments.

Key Features of e-RUPI

e-RUPI is a digital payment solution that enables cashless transactions between service providers and beneficiaries.

e-RUPI enables direct benefit transfer (DBT) to the beneficiaries without any intermediary involvement.

The payment is made through a QR code or SMS-based system, which ensures that the transaction is safe and secure.

e-RUPI is easy to use and can be redeemed by the beneficiaries without the need for a smartphone or a bank account. All they need is a QR code or SMS message, which can be scanned or shown at the location of the service provider to redeem the payment.

Up to 10 e-RUPI vouchers can be issued for one programme on single mobile number / per unique beneficiary; the requirement shall be configurable as per the Scheme requirements.

e-RUPI can be issued only by banks authorized by RBI to issue Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI) and who are participating as Payment Service Providers (PSP) in the UPI ecosystem (referred hereunder as the “Issuer”).

How to view list of live hospitals on e-RUPI?

Firstly, go to the official website of National Payment Corporation of India. On the homepage, click on what we do Option.
Now you have to click on UPI and click on e-RUPI live partners.
Click on Live Hospitals on e-RUPI. A PDF file will appear on the page. In this PDF file, you can view a list of live hospitals on e-RUPI.
