What is CLAT 2023?

A centralized national-level entrance test known as Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for 5-year Integrated LLB - Under Graduation (UG) and 1-year LLM - Post-Graduation (PG) is conducted for admissions to 22 National Law Universities (NLU). This nationalized examination is conducted once a year. This examination is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs.  The majority of private and self-financed law schools also use the scores for law admissions.

After Graduation in Law, Master of Laws (LL.M) programs are offered by these law schools. For recruitment of legal positions like ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, Steel Authority of India, Oil India, etc. they use CLAT Post Graduation (CLAT PG) scores.

CLAT is considered as one of the toughest entrance examinations, with the acceptance rate being as low as 3 percent. Approximately 77,000 candidates appear for the test every year.
